Background
The design was to retain the heritage building’s character while creating a contemporary addition with climatic control that ensures the comfort of patrons across summer and winter.

The solution
The large-scale retractable roof gives the venues Garden Bar an architectural appearance that complements the heritage pub and offers year-round functionality.
The substantial roof draws ample light into the Garden Bar while enabling climate control throughout changing weather seasons. Our team also worked closely with acoustic consultants to develop specific design features that adequately reduce noise for the surrounding residential area.

Tilt’s design significantly increased the headroom clearance possible in large, open areas of the garden. This could only be achieved through a custom design that decreased the roof’s pitch below that of an off-the-shelf product.
