Transformable restaurant dining space for a unique Latin-American restaurant in Paddington - Tequila Mockingbird.
Tilt was engaged to design, manufacture and manage the installation of an operable roof for a new Sydney restaurant. The roof enabled the venue to transform its fully-enclosed dining space into an open-air courtyard with the simple touch of a button.
We engaged in a collaborative design process with several project consultants to realise the retractable roof design for this challenging renovation.
The retractable roof enables Tequila Mockingbird to operate at maximum capacity while offering patrons a variety of dining styles.
Through its retractability, the roof takes advantage of all seasons, transforming from a cosy fully-enclosed space into atmospheric alfresco dining. It also ensures the venue can manage any event in every weather condition.
Aesthetics were an important consideration to ensure the roof design specifically upheld and suited the architectural intent. The one-touch control system enables the roof to stop in any position and includes battery backup to ensure it can be closed in the event of a power outage.
