"Endless love celebrates the beauty of Sydney's harbour, and its positioning between the vast Pacific Ocean and the landmass of Australia beyond." – Michaela Gleave
ENDLESS LOVE’ is a large-scale illuminated text artwork that is located arching above Cahill expressway overlooking Sydney Harbour at Circular Quay for the duration of Vivid 2022.
Michaela Gleave approached Tilt to support her concept and provide detailed design, delivery, fabrication management, installation, and post-installation of the artwork.
While also ensuring budgetary requirements were paramount and delivery was timely due to the unique and prominent location.
The installation encompasses large-scale letters in a curvature form which are supported by a structural frame mounted above Circular Quay station withstanding approximately 50kgs per individual letter.
The letters range from 1.4m to 2.2m in size.
Programmable lighting is the key feature of the design, each letter illuminates internally progressing through a spectrum of colours designed by Gleave. The lighting is RGB LED modules that are programmed to gradually transition through the Artist’s colour palette over a 3 minute cycle. The colourful messaging projects spectacular lighting onto the water and beyond.
Endless love explores the relationship between light, colour, and space –casting light reflections onto the water and the surroundings, providing moments of reflection and atmospheric experience for Vivid 2022.
“Timely and generous ENDLESS LOVE is a work for this moment. It speaks to the challenges we have endured, and the optimism with which we look to the future. It reaches out to the world with a message of love and captures the spirit of joy and boundless optimism that makes Sydney one of the truly great global cities.” Michaela Gleave
