A New Era of Hospitality
CANLEY VALE | CABROGAL (DHARUG)

A new era in hospitality, Cabravale Resort Club has been reimagined as a premium entertainment and leisure destination. The extensive redevelopment introduces a sophisticated resort-inspired experience, bringing together dining, entertainment and social connection within a vibrant new setting. While its identity has evolved, the club remains firmly grounded in the community that has shaped its legacy.
As part of the significant redevelopment of Cabravale Resort Club, Altis Architecture envisioned a world-leading space to rival some of the best-known clubs in the world. The club features complex, technical structures that are both theatrical and blur the lines between art, architecture and landscape.
Upon entering the lofty atrium, a series of organically shaped canopy structures rise from landscaped gardens, setting the tone for a premium experience. Moving through into Caffé Vicini, a bold network of copper-finished pipes is suspended above the bar, referencing the industrial heritage of traditional coffee roasting and brewing equipment.
The ambitious elements required a delivery partner capable of translating creative intent into a buildable and economical architectural solution. Tilt was engaged to undertake a design review, establish materials and specifications, and develop a construction methodology to support the development of the wider project.
Tilt’s approach focused on translating Altis’ concept into a practical, buildable outcome. Through early-stage investigation and design development, the team aligned creative intent with engineering requirements, fabrication capabilities and site constraints, enabling informed decision-making throughout the project.
The concept envisioned oversized sculptural forms that demanded both visual elegance and technical rigour. To realise this vision, Tilt developed a lightweight material strategy, using glass reinforced concrete (GRC) for the canopies and powder-coated aluminium for the coffee pipes. These materials delivered the desired visual impact while providing the structural performance, durability and fabrication efficiency needed to realise the large-scale elements without compromising the original design intent.
Using advanced CAD modelling, Tilt rationalised complex geometries and established construction and installation methodologies suited to a busy, multi-trade site environment. Careful consideration was given to structural performance, modular assembly, transport logistics and integration with surrounding architectural elements, helping reduce project risk and improve delivery certainty.
Through a rigorous design study process, Tilt provided end-to-end design leadership during feasibility and concept development, balancing design intent, budget expectations and construction realities. By integrating design, engineering, manufacturing and installation expertise from the outset, the team established a buildable technical framework while maintaining flexibility for future value-engineering opportunities.
Comprehensive early collaboration with Tilt and architectural and construction teams, enabled key challenges to be identified and resolved upfront, reducing risk and creating a clear pathway to delivery.
Tilt’s integrated process connected concept development, engineering, fabrication and installation planning from the earliest stages, reducing project risk and improving delivery certainty.
Advanced CAD modelling, CNC-manufactured cladding and precision-engineered structural systems combined to create a feature that balances artistry with technical performance.
