The Barangaroo Boat
The 2025 National Trust (NSW) Heritage Awards honoured The Conservation of the Barangaroo Boat in the Objects category. Awarded to Sydney Metro with Silentworld Foundation and York Archeological trust, the 2D cast iron interpretation of a pre-1830’s colonial boat, serves as a perpetual story of Sydney’s early maritime history. Tilt worked with the project team to develop a digital file of the boat’s remains and create a flattened file that was used to create a cast iron inlay, featuring the individual planks and woodgrain of the timber.
The Barangaroo Boat is part of a greater heritage plan for the Barangaroo Station Park which was recognised in the 2025 NSW AILA Awards. Tilt worked with Arcadia Landscape Architects and the project team to recreate the ground inlay of the boat. Learn more
