The Good Design Awards is one of the longest standing, and most prestigious awards worldwide, promoting excellence in design and innovation since 1958.

Tim Phillips, Managing Director, Tilt, recognised a gap in well-designed skylight products available for architects and developers.

“We wanted to create beautifully-designed Skylights & Hatches that would be respectful to an architect’s creative intent,” Mr Phillips says.

The product opens up opportunities for roof terraces to become seamless extensions of the home, and for new (often spectacular) vistas to be unveiled and maximised.

As the only operable glass skylights available that can be utilised with a standard staircase, they greatly increase light and ventilation in a space.

The architecture industry is really positive about Tilt’s new Skylights & Hatches and has welcomed them to the marketplace.

Tim Greer, Director, Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, says the firm is already working with Tilt on large scale projects, and are excited about the opportunities Skylights & Hatches will create for the architecture profession.

The awards were announced at a ceremony in Sydney on 8 June, which coincided with Vivid Festival.
