Explore new possibilities with the launch of Tilt’s new Product Division
Indesign, By Bridey Kerr
August 1st, 2024 -
Walk along the leafy streets of Sydney’s inner city suburb of Chippendale and chances are you’ll stumble across Phoenix Central Park. Designed by Wardle and Durbach Block Jaggers, the building has something of the Mad Hatter about it; a delightful composition of structure and creativity with a facade that has passers-by guessing at what could possibly lay inside.
For those who venture inside, this performance space and gallery is a magic box of architectural surprises, where expectations are inverted at every turn. From impossibly large doors, to delicately suspended light fixtures, and warped skylights, each element is a play on perception, creating a wholly unique and immersive experiential space.

Creating Bespoke Architecture
In architecture that defies the typical, having exceptional collaborators is imperative, and Tilt Industrial Design was a cornerstone of the monumental project. The technical team behind each of the aforementioned components of the building (just one of the 25 custom features they created), Tilt’s proven industrial design process was essential in the success of Phoenix Central Park and the realisation of a wholly unique architectural aesthetic.
While the Chippendale performance space may be an iconic in Sydney’s cultural circles, it is just one of Tilt’s ever growing portfolio of exceptional projects. Since 2013 when founder Tilt delivered the glinting heliostats at Sydney’s One Central Park, Tilt has been dedicated to bridging the gap between architectural ambition and the built solution, supporting artists and product designers to fulfill their creative briefs. Working to the principles of creative collaboration, technical audacity and unparalleled craft, Tilt has become a go-to for custom architectural features and urban product designs that push creative and performance boundaries.
