  • Industry advice from Elizabeth,

    Industry advice from Elizabeth,

Given the current circumstances surrounding climate, many graduates are feeling uncertain about how best to make the leap into the industry.

The ASK ME ANYTHING event provided a wonderful platform to talk through graduates’ options and how best to manage the transition.

The best advice that I can offer graduates is to keep being creative and work through self-initiated projects.

Most graduates have similar portfolios comprising of university projects. Including projects which demonstrate that you can identify a design problem and work through to a solution can separate your portfolio from others.

  • When looking holistically at your career, break it out into achievable goals. It is unlikely that your career will be linear but rather a mix of different paths and experiences, which builds slowly and fluidly.
Don’t be perturbed if you don’t land your dream job straight away or if you have trouble breaking into the design industry.

Keep working consistently towards your goal, and you will find the path meant for you.
