Kye’s profound understanding of engineering and design allows him to work at all scales, from architectural skylights to large operable facade systems. He has worked on a number of complex projects and has been involved in improving management systems to accommodate Tilt’s rapid growth.
A pivotal project for Kye is architect Downie North’s Courtyard House – currently under construction. Tilt was engaged to deliver a bespoke operable screen system.
“The project was a very satisfying and unique brief to resolve. There was a significant amount of detail behind the design. Seeing the operability function and integration so seamless felt very rewarding. I was involved throughout the entire process from early detailed design through to construction. The design has been delivered as the client intended, providing optimum sun shading & privacy. The screens are also one of the integral elements for the face of the façade of the home.”
Kye describes the foundation behind a successful design outcome
“Behind unique design features delivered at Tilt, there is a profound amount of research, evaluation, design, and team collaboration. For each project, we look through the lens of a design feature as a whole, understanding the layers of complexity, and there are no parameters set.”
Kye has positioned himself as a valuable and eager team member at Tilt. He provides a detail-oriented design approach and holds critical thinking attributes to deliver exceptional outcomes for every project.
